West Rupert is a tiny village of about 700 residents in the Taconic
Mountains
of Vermont. Bear Mountain Farm's pastures are nestled in a bowl
protected by
several ridges and dominated by 3,300 foot Bear Mountain. The winters
are hard
here but our robust Romneys rarely opt for the barn. We lamb on
pasture in May.
And even then night time temps can drop well below freezing.
